Mechanism of Action: Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist that mimics a natural hormone to help control appetite, enhance feelings of fullness, and reduce food intake.
Indications: It's used as an adjunct to a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity for weight management in adults with a BMI of ≥30 kg/m² (obesity) or ≥27 kg/m² (overweight) with at least one weight-related comorbidity. It's also used to treat type 2 diabetes.
 
Administration: It's typically administered as a once-weekly subcutaneous injection.
